Who Can Really Take Care of the Elderly at Home?

Do you really depend on human services out of your family members to take care of your elderly at home? A worker needs a job, but for some reasons we just cannot let our beloved ones get along with a stranger. Do you go with this negative thinking or you are ready to take all consequences?

Senior citizens are unique when it comes to fulfillment of the special needs and requirements. It's a long term care, assisted living and they are far away from your workplace. And a worker's task is how to make them save with him or her. They are not the one with muscles to defense themselves from abuse. They just love to get engaged in intimate activities as bathing and dressing, because their memory is not as strong as what they used to have.

Aged care, this term is also common in the English speaking world need services as adult day care, nursing home and you must be able to get one worker to manage this. Most elders prefer to stay home and long distance travelling can be changed into nostalgic stories.

We are not talking about a silly joke saying in most western countries when a child has achieved something in life that is the time to kick the elderly parents out of your life. It's not India, where you can practice Thalaikkooththal, it is the traditional practice of senicide (killing of the elderly) or involuntary euthanasia by their own family members, observed in some parts of southern districts of Tamil Nadu state of India.

In most western countries, elderly care facilities are residential family care homes, freestanding assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and Continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). A family care home is a residential home with support and supervisory personnel by an agency, organization, or individual that provides room and board, personal care and habilitation services in a family environment for at least two and no more than six persons.

Anyone of us should be able to take care of our beloved helpless aging parents at home as long as we can work from home, but if not--as so many people have this condition, we are in need of someone out there to guard and secure and assist them anytime they need help.

Taking a risk yes, but keep positive thinking and learn first very carefully before you hire a worker inside your house is highly recommended. What is considered "the crime of the century" should not be there when you are also willing to monitor your beloved one from a distance.

If you do research just make sure a quality employer agency providing home care workers will screen for suitability for the job, may do drug testing, and will train and supervise its workers. It will also replace them if one leaves suddenly.

For short, your consideration and pray hopefully can help your beloved elderly feel secure anywhere they are with or without an assistant who should be no a stranger.
